Stand up to Hatred Posted 20 February 2009

The theme of Holocaust Memorial Day was about standing up to hatred. It was about trying to improve how people can settle their differences, respect each other and get along, so something like World War Two will not happen again. I hope the message can be put across to people so religious and racial related fights will cease to happen. Holocaust Memorial Day to me means that you should not be afraid to go against something if you think it is wrong.

Another main point of Holocaust Memorial Day is that we need to remember and not let terrible things happen again. Genocide is taking place at this very moment all over the world, and if people could just pull together as one, many problems would be solved. At the end of the day we are all human beings; if we could just put our religion, skin colour and other differences aside we could make this world a better place to live in. I think Holocaust Memorial Day is one step closer to the ever lasting destination so many of us call peace.
